“My credit report is mixed with my twin. What is happening?!”
There are so many great things about being a twin. Unfortunately, credit reporting sometimes isn’t among them. As the name suggests, a mixed credit report is one that mistakenly contains information belonging to another person. Mixed reporting errors negatively impact both twins’ credit profiles, credit scores, and even credit worthiness.

I’m Tod Lewis, an attorney who helps adult twins/multiples with a problem that is difficult to fix. Adult multiples often have ‘mixed’ credit reports. ‘Multiples mixing’ problems occur due to identical DOBs, and close social security numbers (often only one digit apart) and sometimes there are similar names at issue. Equifax, Trans Union, and Experian often mix the financial and personal information of multiples together. Multiples mixing can wreak havoc and cause missed credit opportunities (e.g., credit card, mortgage, or car loan denials).
I do not charge twins/multiples for my services. Rather, the Fair Credit Reporting Act requires that credit bureaus pay for the financial damages they cause due to ‘multiples mixing.’ These damages include attorney fees and costs. I use contingent fee agreements with no out-of-pocket charges for multiples. The ‘mixing’ problem is quite common, and multiples need help from an experienced advocate such as myself.
